ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Rhona Whiteford has been writing full time for primary school children and their teachers for 30 years and she is a qualified and experienced primary school teacher. Her writing includes many resource books for primary school teachers in all subjects, workbooks for children and parents’ guides and she is widely published (see Rhona Whiteford at ). She is a regular contributor to several primary education professional magazines, from Early Years to Key Stage 2.
She has led many workshops for teachers and has worked as an educational consultant for publishers. She led a creative writing workshop for Y5 and Y6 children at a local primary school for almost fifteen years. She now focusses most of her time on fiction for this age group. As founder of Wild Dog Books she feels strongly that children can and should enjoy reading and that children who read well, learn well.

Rhona is an illustrator as well as a writer and can bring many examples of art from her books and can draw during talks, too. Although her books are are written for readers in the 8 - 12 age group, she has also had much experience with younger children and can offer inspiration for stories.
